Copyright Laws in Myanmar.

Copyright Law in Myanmar has existed since 1914, English colonial time. Trade marks, service Marks can be registered as forms of WORDS, MARKS, DEVICES or LOGO. Officisl declaration of ownwership of of a trademark is necessary. Myanmar has had court decisions which had protected IP rights of the Plaintiff of the case of Trade Mark Conflict.
There were some recorded law suits regarding copyright.
There are some laws protecting Intellectula Property rights at present. New IP laws were enacted in Myanmar in 2006. These laws strongly protect IP rights of IP ownership in Myanmar as ASEAN countries. Thus, Myanmar has jurisdiction of IP rights protection.
There are no rules of 'fair use for teachers' clearly in Myanmar.

Students’ age: 16+
Language focus: vocabulary describing people’s age (e.g. toddler, tween, teenage, mid-, late-, early- , -something, etc.)
Teacher’s preparation: Picture cards - people of different age (toddler, infant, baby, old people, adult…)
Integration: After the lesson - Describing people

Procedure:
  1.    Ask students how to describe people of different age when they don’t know their age exactly.
  2.     Elicit words such as, old, young, etc. If students find it difficult to think of such words in L1.
  3.    Ask Ss to guess the missing words the dialogue.
Gloria: I’m surprised at the variety of people on this tour.
Andy: Oh, yeah? I hadn’t noticed.
Gloria: Well, we’ll be spending the next two weeks with these people so I thought I’d get to know

            some of them.
Andy: That’s nice.
Gloria: Did you see that thirty-__________________ couple with a __________________  and
an __________________? I’m really surprised they’re on this tour.
Andy: I’m sure they know what they’re doing.
Gloria: And how about that group of seniors? Some of them look like they’re in

             the __________________- to __________________- seventies.
Andy: They seem pretty spry to me.
Gloria: But what really surprises me is that group of __________________ couples with
            their __________________ and __________________ children. They’ll be a handful.
Andy: They seemed pretty well behaved to me.
Gloria: And did you notice that woman in her __________________-forties and the forty-
__________________ man each traveling alone? She seemed nice, but he didn’t seem too
           friendly.
Andy: Maybe he’s using his time to size up everybody like you are.
Gloria: Well, I wish there were more __________________ in this group. I like talking to young

             people.
Andy: I think there will be plenty of people for you to talk to these two weeks when you’re

            not sightseeing.
Gloria: Sightseeing? Oh yeah, sightseeing.

4.       Let students listen to the podcast (the slow dialogue) and ask them to complete the dialogue.

       next to them.
6.       Check if students get most of the words: toddler, infant, tween, teenage, young, old, adult, mid-  ,
early-   , late -,  thirty-something. If students do not get most of these words, let them listen to
       the podcast 1-2 more time(s).
7.       Ask students’ to work in pair to think of the meaning of the words.
8.       Make students’ the equivalent words or expressions in their language (L1).
9.       Let students listen to the explanation part and check if the meanings they guess are accurate.
10.   Ask students to arrange the words (infant, toddler, tween, teenage, adult, old people) in order
       (young to old age).
11.   Ask students to work in pair to talk about three people (their family, friends or neighbours) of
different ages using the expressions they have just learned.
